WWII German WH DAK Pith Helmet

Offered is a second pattern tropical pith helmet. It is constructed with an OD colored felt on the exterior over a cork base and trimmed with a stitched on grayish/green leather band running along the edge. Exterior felt is in good condition with color wear obvious by the shadowing of the chinstrap, which is missing, and the out line of goggles. The top center of the crown has a removable, felt covered, ventilation knob with three openings. The helmet has both stamped metal shields with a national eagle on the left side and national tri-color shield on the right.  The interior of the helmet is lined in teal green felt which is also in very good condition. Crown is lined in red felt. Tan leather sweatband is held in place with six prongs and metal cotter pins. The sweatband is maker marked "APN" and has torn in one spot. The interior crown has a metal grommet under the exterior top crown knob. Helmet is size marked 57 and dated 1942 on the under side of the sweatband.  Leather sweatband is intact and in excellent condition.
